Attendance for this year’s Dixie Classic Fair drew 20,484 fewer attendees than in 2013. This year’s event, which was affected by weather during three weekend days of the 10-day event, including both Fridays, showed a decrease in attendance of 6.38 percent over last year. The 2014 totals were slightly off of the Dixie Classic Fair’s five-year average of 325,000.
The 2014 Dixie Classic Fair featured the best in food, rides, games and fun. Midway entertainment, including rides and games, were once again provided by James E. Strates Shows. Musical entertainment at Fair’s Grandstand included rising country stars Parmalee, up-and-coming country artist Craig Campbell and Contemporary Christian acts Jamie Grace and Colton Dixon. Music lovers were also treated to daily performances by local artists at the Triad Area Chevy Dealers Clock Tower Stage, while fans at the Grandstand were thrilled by the Demolition Derby, Tractor Pull, Figure 8 Racing and the Rodeo.
