To strengthen this mission\, two nonprofit Charity Partners are selected each year to share in the event’s proceeds. These partners are chosen for their direct impact on community health and fitness\, with special consideration given to organizations serving youth and disadvantaged populations. \nFrom the Twin City Track Club (TCTC): \nBeat the Heat is proudly hosted by the TCTC — a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting running and fitness in the Winston-Salem\, North Carolina area. \nFounded in 1977\, TCTC is Winston-Salem’s oldest running club and one of the largest in North Carolina\, welcoming runners and walkers of all abilities. Our members represent a cross-section of the community who share a passion for staying active and connected. \nThrough group runs\, educational programs\, social events\, and volunteer efforts\, the club fosters a welcoming environment that encourages everyone — from beginners to experienced athletes — to enjoy the lifelong benefits of running and walking.
