Visit Winston-Salem and Bandits JOAD to Host North Carolina State Championship Events for USA Archery

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Bandits JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) is set to host the 2022 USA Archery North Carolina State and JOAD Indoor Championships February 11-12 at the Winston Salem Fairgrounds Education Building. The state championship events, which expect to attract 100 plus archers, will headline North Carolina’s top talent, including archers with Olympic, Paralympic and World Championship aspirations. 

USA Archery is the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of archery and has sanctioned Bandits JOAD to host this prestigious event for the 3rd year in a row. There will be a try Archery session for Fairgrounds Staff and media Friday, February 11th at 2pm.

More than 100 archers, both adult and youth, from throughout North Carolina will converge on the Fairgrounds Education Building on Saturday, Jan. 11, for the North Carolina 2020 USA Archery and Junior Olympic Archery Development Championships. The competition will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Admission is $1 and parking will be $5.

        Also competing will be some guest guest archers from Virginia and South Carolina.

        Competitors include several Olympic hopefuls, said George Hutcherson, the coach of the Bandits Junior Olympic Archery Development Club in Winston-Salem, which is serving as the host organization for the championships. “We have some archers coming who are the elite of the elite,” Hutcherson said. “Come support North Carolina archers and cheer them on to a bright future in the sport.”
