Who: National Archery in the Schools Program

When: February 25th & 26th, 2022

Where: Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Education Building

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s National Archery in Schools (NASP) state tournament will occur on Feb. 14­–15 in the Education Building at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds.

Approximately 800 students from 32 schools , including Elementary, Middle School and High School divisions, will compete for the title of North Carolina State Champion. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female individual archers, and to the top-scoring team in each division.

The National Archery in Schools Program teaches and promotes international-style target archery as part of an in-school curriculum to improve educational performance and participation in the shooting sports among students in grades 4-12. The mission of USA Archery is to provide the necessary resources to foster strong athlete participation, competition and training in the sport of archery. Membership in USA Archery is open to everyone involved in all disciplines of archery including target, field and 3-D. USA Archery sanctions more than 200 events annually and conducts indoor, outdoor and collegiate National Championships as well as the United States Archery Team Qualifier Series. USA Archery also provides youth and adult archery programs and clubs throughout the United States, and certifies archery instructors, coaches and judges. For the second consecutive year the NC USA Archery JOAD will hold their state championship at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Education Building.

What you need to know:

  • There is a clear bag only policy in place for this event.
  • Currently, there are no specific Covid-19 restrictions or requirements for commencement; however, we strongly encourage all participants to wear masks while seated throughout the entirety of the program. Please check back with us as we get closer to event day for updates.
  • Honors and Military cords will be mailed to graduates that RSVP’d their attendance when applying for graduation. Graduates who do not intend to attend the ceremonies will have their cords mailed with their diplomas.
  • We encourage all non-participants to view in-person ceremonies via live stream.
  • Be sure to include your Banner ID on all commencement-related correspondence.
