Crisis Control Ministry’s annual community concert, formerly known as Shmedfest, is getting a new name. The Rhythm & Hope Concert is free and open to the public. “We are celebrating 50 years of service to the community, as well as 50 years of the community supporting us,” stated Margaret Elliott, executive director of CCM, “We want this concert to be a gift to and celebration with the entire community.”

Beat the Heat has been one of the most popular races in North Carolina for more than 30 years!. It has been selected multiple times by Endurance Magazine as the best 5K in Triad NC and was featured in Running Journal magazine as the #1 “Under the Radar” race in the South. Beat the Heat is a charity event with proceeds going to local non-profits that support health and fitness in the community.

We will again be hosting the NC-USATF 5K Championship for NC elite runners.  Elite runners should contact the race director at beattheheat@twincitytc.org for elite entry standards.
