Winston-Salem Fairgrounds To Host 2021 ACCHL D2-D3 Tournament

The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds will once again host the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL) Championship Tournament, March 19-21, 2021.  Only this year it will include Schools from both the D3 and D2 divisions.

Teams returning from last season’s tournament include defending champion NC State and Virginia Tech, meanwhile Elon will be making their D2 Tournament debut in Winston-Salem.  There will also be a women’s Championship game on Saturday as W-Virginia Tech takes on W-NC State at 3 pm.  New teams joining the tournament through the D3 division include:  East Carolina, University of Florida, University of Tennessee, Coastal Carolina, High Point, and Liberty.

The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds has worked with the ACCHL and City staff to create guidelines on the safest way to host the tournament. Spectators for the tournament will be limited to 250 for each game, and will be assigned socially distanced seats within the Annex. All spectators will be required to wear a mask while in the Annex and must complete a health and safety screening before entering.  We ask that fans leave following the competition of their assigned game.

The ACCHL is committed to providing a quality hockey environment, as part of a student’s overall educational experience. The tournament will feature ten games within a 3-day period, and will consist of two women’s teams and eight total teams in the ACCHL D2 and D3 divisions.

The game schedule is as followed, doors will open 30 minutes before each session.

Friday, March 19 – Day 1 – 11:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 8:00 pm

Saturday, March 20 – Day 2 – 12:30 pm, 3:00 pm (Women’s Final), 6:00 pm, 9:00 pm

Sunday, March 21 – Day 3 – D2 Final 4:00 pm, D3 Final 7 pm
